Fix Air Suspension Leaks: A Better Solution! Save Over 93% with Air Suspension Repair
- Are OE parts too expensive? Choose remanufactured and repaired air suspension shocks for a cost-saving alternative!
- Airmatic suspensions are becoming more popular, with many cars now using this type of air strut. On average, air suspension shocks should be replaced every 6-10 years due to age and wear and tear. A common issue for all air suspension shocks is air leaks, but repairs can fix this problem.
- This business can be very profitable. More and more car garages and workshops are choosing to repair air suspensions.

Air suspension repair process
- Inspection and Analysis of Used Q7 New Model Front Air Shock: Detecting Issues
- Disassembly of Air Shock: Remove the old metal ring, aluminum cover, dust cover, rubber bladder, strut mount, O-ring, and other parts.
- Clean these air suspension kits in sandblasting cabinet(metal or aluminum parts)
- Prime and paint the components.
- Add oil and air into the shock core.
- Change the dust cover, air valve, aluminum cover, cable, and aluminum shield as needed.
- Crimp the new rubber bladder with a new steel ring
- Assemble the air suspension shock.
- Check the quality of the air shock by applying pressure between 10-18 bars.
- Inspection and analysis of old air spring: detecting issues.
- Disassemble the air spring by removing the old steel rings and rubber bladder.
- Clean aluminum or metal parts in a sandblasting machine. For plastic parts, check their condition to see if they can be recycled.
- Prime and paint the components (only for metal parts).
- Crimp the new rubber bladder with a new steel ring.
- Assemble the air spring.
- Change the air valve based on the condition of the used parts.
- Test the quality of the air spring by simulating a car at pressures between 8-18 bars.
How to start the air suspension repair ?
Step 1: Build Your Team
Select individuals with mechanical knowledge to lead your air suspension shock repair program. It’s important that they understand machinery and can quickly grasp the repair processes.
Step 2: Get Your Space Ready
Prepare a suitable area for your workshop. If you have a large space, that’s ideal, but if not, around 300 square meters should suffice. Divide the space into two sections: one for sandblasting and painting, and the other for crimping and assembly. A clean environment is crucial for the assembly process.
Step 3: Determine Your Target Car Models
Decide which car models’ air shocks or struts you’ll specialize in repairing. You can choose to repair all types or focus on popular models in your market. There are approximately 100 different types of air suspension shocks and springs to consider.
Step 4: Equip Your Workshop
Choose the necessary machinery and tools based on your repair services. Ensure you have everything required for efficient repair operations.
Step 5: Purchase Equipment and Repair Kits
Purchase high-quality repair equipment, tools, and kits to support your repair services. Investing in reliable supplies ensures customer satisfaction and long-term success.
Air Suspension Repair Equipments
When setting up an air suspension repair workshop, it’s important to choose the necessary equipments based on the specific services you plan to offer. Here are some essential equipment options to consider:
Air Suspension Crimping Machine
This crimping machine is used to crimp a new rubber bladder and aluminum cover onto the air strut head or piston. When repairing air suspension shocks, it’s necessary to replace the rubber bladder. This crimping machine is essential for that process.
Rubber folding machine
After crimping the air spring, it can sometimes be too long. This machine will fold the rubber bladder to make the air spring the right length, then you can put it in a carton box.
Sand blasting machine
If a car garage or workshop wants to recycle air suspension parts like the aluminum cover, metal head, and piston, this machine will help. It can clean the surface of used parts before painting.
Hydraulic press machine
This is called a “Hydraulic press machine.” It creates a lot of pressure when it pushes down. When changing the strut mount, top mount, or central rubber, you need to use this press machine to remove the old mount and install the new one.
Air compressor machine
The air compressor machine, as its name suggests, produces air. When we need to pump air into the air shock or air spring, we use this machine. It’s also used to clean parts with high-pressure air.
Air suspension testing machine
The air suspension testing machine is used to test air shocks after they are made. This basic model is more affordable, while more advanced ones are much more expensive. If a car garage is just starting out, this machine is a good option to consider.
Water machine for painting
This machine is used for painting. After you finish sandblasting the air suspension kit, the next step is painting. Some auto garages only repair air suspensions and don’t use this machine. However, car garages that rebuild air suspensions will need this machine.
Glue machine for air shock
After assembling the airmatic suspension, we often put some glue around the shock head to make the air strut look excellent. This glue machine will help with that.
High quality materials, top craftsmanship, strict inspection
- About rubber bladder(rubber sleeve), the inside and outside we use the Japan CR rubber, framework material we use the Nylon PA66, fatigue test :amplitude 35mm, inflation pressure 0.7mpa, continuous 3.5 millions tests without air leak, antioxidation, oil resistance, acid and alkali resistance, work between temperature -40-80°C
- About the steel part, all need to do the ” hardness ” testing before use
- About the shock core, 100% working ads, same function as original
